Looe Lifeboat Station

Ready for Launch

Looe lifeboats operate from the Albatross Boathouse near the sea front of East Looe. The lifeboat station has two inshore lifeboats - a B Class Atlantic 75 and a D Class. The station was opened in 2003. As well as housing the two lifeboats, the building provides crew facilities and has a purpose built RNLI shop. The first floor of the building provides a training room, office facilities and an observation point from which the safety of the lifeboats can be monitored.

The Boathouse is open to visitors, usually 2pm to 4pm daily (sometimes longer in high season). There are a number of volunteer boathouse guides to show people around.

There is Disabled Access to the boathouse.

The Souvenir shop is normally open 11am to 4pm, although we operate limited opening hours during the winter months.

We are always looking for volunteers for both the boathouse guides as well as for the sourvenir shop. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a volunteer or need further details.
